Research has documented that companion animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds help people live longer and healthier lives. Some of the health benefits of having a companion animal are lower blood pressure, decreased stress, reduced bone loss, lowered cholesterol levels, and improved circulation.

laugh in a variety of situations compared to those of the same age without heart disease.
