Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a highly contagious, potentially dangerous respiratory virus that is an important cause of illnesses such as pneumonia in infants and young children. The peak of severe disease occurs in infants 2 to 6 months of age and in some cases, may be life-threatening. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, immune response and viral shedding of MEDI-559, an investigational nasal vaccine being developed for Respiratory Syncytial Virus compared to a placebo.
